Big Purple Events is the event design and management studio inside Big Purple Group. Twenty-plus years of work behind the team — from charity galas to brand activations to themed weddings.

The studio handles planning, suppliers, hospitality, guest experience, run-of-show on the day, and the parts of the event that make the audience remember they were there.

Corporate events

Annual conferences, partner events, sales kick-offs, recognition dinners, hospitality programmes, board off-sites and training days. Planning, venue selection, supplier coordination and on-the-day management.

Charity galas & fundraising

Glitter Balls, Black Tie Balls, Giving Days, fundraising auctions and recognition events. Recurring partnerships with North East charities — designing the night and structuring the moments around the donation ask.

Brand events & activations

Press events, product launches, brand days, customer events and partner activations. Events handles the operational side and coordinates across the wider studio when scenic, AV or filming is needed.

Awards & recognition

Industry awards, internal recognition nights, ceremonial dinners. Show calling, autocue, run-of-show, hospitality programmes — designed alongside the AV team so the on-stage moments land.

Weddings & private events

Themed weddings, milestone celebrations, private parties and milestone birthdays. Less of our work than corporate or charity — but the briefs we take we bring the same standard to as a conference for a thousand.

Hospitality & supplier programmes

Supplier coordination across multiple events, sponsorship hospitality programmes, and agency-of-record relationships for organisations running events frequently who don’t want to rebuild a roster every time.

How we run an event.

From the first conversation to the post-event report — the same event manager the whole way through.

Brief and discovery

First conversation, venue scout, stakeholder discovery. We come back with a written response, an event manager to take you through the work, a high-level plan and a budget shape.

Design

Concept, mood boards, supplier shortlist, run-of-show v1. Sign-off before any supplier is booked.

Supplier coordination & pre-production

Suppliers booked, run-of-show locked, hospitality designed, guest comms drafted. Tech rehearsal scheduled with Productions if AV is in scope.

Event day & follow-up

The event manager runs the day. Post-event report covering what worked, what we’d lift, what the cause raised, and what next year could look like.

Frequently asked.

Do you handle catering and venue selection?
Yes — both. We have long-standing relationships with caterers, venues, AV companies (we are one), florists, photographers, entertainment agencies and security across the North East and UK-wide. The supplier roster is a feature, not a list of contacts on a spreadsheet.
Can you handle the fundraising side of a charity event — auction logistics, donation processing?
Yes. We’ve designed and run live auctions, silent auctions, donation moments, and integrated digital donation platforms. Event manager works with the charity’s fundraising lead from week one.
Do you offer single-event briefs or only ongoing partnerships?
Both. Some of our charity and corporate clients book us annually for the same event; others book us once for a launch or a milestone. Single-event briefs are welcome.
Will you work with our existing AV / video supplier?
Yes. Where the brief requires it, we work alongside the client’s existing AV or video company. Where the brief is open, we bring Productions and Capture into the conversation — but the client’s existing relationships always get respected.
